Communication for EU projects
I run communication and dissemination for European consortia. So your project meets Brussels’ requirements and also reaches the people it needs to reach.
yes, I’ll read Annex 1, all of it (and underline it)
I speak Brussels
GAs and CAs, review meetings, CSAs, R&D and capacity building. I’ve spent years inside European consortia and I know the acronyms, the deadlines and the quirks of some project officers. You won’t have to waste time explaining the jargon to me.
And watch out: poor communication can cost you part of your grant.
and yes, I know the difference between communication, dissemination and exploitation.

Brussels glossary 12 EU project acronyms, explained in plain language
GA · Grant Agreement. The grant contract between the European Commission, or the agency running the programme, and the partners. It sets out what is done, when and with how much money.
CA · Consortium Agreement. The internal agreement between partners: who decides, how the money is shared and who owns the results.
DoA · Description of the Action. Annex 1 of the GA. It describes the project step by step: work packages, deliverables, milestones and deadlines.
PEDR · Plan for the Exploitation and Dissemination of Results. The plan for exploiting and disseminating results, communication included. In Horizon Europe it is a mandatory deliverable in the first months.
KERs · Key Exploitable Results. The key results that can be used once the project ends: a product, a method, a tool or a policy recommendation.
RIA and CSA · Research and Innovation Action and Coordination and Support Action. Two types of Horizon Europe project. RIAs do research. CSAs coordinate, connect and disseminate.
Art. 17 · Communication, dissemination and visibility. The Horizon Europe GA article on communication, dissemination and visibility: the EU emblem, the funding statement and the obligation to communicate.
Review meeting. The meeting where the project officer and external experts check how the project is going. This is where good communication really shows.
Open access and Zenodo. The obligation to publish the project’s scientific articles openly. Zenodo is the free repository, backed by the EU and CERN, most widely used to do so.
CORDIS · Community Research and Development Information Service. The official EU website where funded projects and their results are published.
Capacity building. Training and supporting people or organisations so they can carry on alone when the project ends.
Communication, dissemination and exploitation. Communication means telling the general public about the project. Dissemination means sharing the results with those who can use them. Exploitation means actually using them, in the market, in policy or in new research.

Some things I’ve done
I’ve run communication and dissemination for Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe projects, with partners from more than 15 countries and budgets of €1.6 to €4.7 million. Here is a sample.
NEXTCELL
Communication plan
my part: author of the plan
Tell me more
The second version of the NEXTCELL communication and dissemination plan, a 48-month project with 17 partners from 10 countries. It organises eleven audiences, from the raw materials industry to policymakers, with their messages, phases and KPIs.
BIObec
Storymap
my part: design and content
Tell me more
An interactive map of the project’s six Bio-Based Education Centres, from Finland to the Mediterranean. Each entry explains which partners make up the centre, who it trains and which value chains it works on, and links to a video of its journey. It is part of the project’s capacity building.
STOPP
Video
my part: filming and editing
Tell me more
At its first General Assembly, the consortium visited the Biotechnological Hub of Slovenia’s National Institute of Biology, one of the partners. The video presents the centre and the research done there.
GIGAGREEN
Press release
my part: writing
Tell me more
GIGAGREEN and five other European battery projects form the Battery Heroes cluster. The release announced their shared stand at the Battery Innovation Days 2024 in Barcelona.
GIGAGREEN
Interviews
my part: preparation and interviews
Tell me more
Video interviews with the people leading the project. Before filming, I coach each researcher to explain complex things simply.
STOPP
Script
my part: script
Tell me more
The project’s corporate video. It explains how STOPP aims to cut waste from plastic food packaging with the 5 Rs: refuse, reduce, redesign, reuse and recycle.
I have also worked on ALIGNED, ALFA, agroBRIDGES, BEATLES and FASTEST.
What people usually ask me
We lead the communication WP but we have no team. Does that work for you?
That is exactly what I’m here for. I join your team, talk to the other partners and make sure the work package moves forward.
Can you join once the project has started?
Yes. I review what is there, update the plan if needed and we carry on from there to the end.
Do you handle everything or just one part?
Whatever you prefer. I can run all the communication and dissemination or just one piece: a video, the website, an event or the plan.
Do you only work with Horizon projects?
That is where I have the most experience, in Horizon 2020 and Horizon Europe. The communication and visibility rules are very similar in other programmes, such as Erasmus+, LIFE or Interreg.
Which languages do you work in?
In English, the language of almost every consortium. Also in Spanish and Catalan.

02
Communication training with AI
Courses so your team writes clearly and persuasively, with AI as an ally.
03
Strategic communication and storytelling
We shape your story so every audience understands and remembers it.
Shall we tell it together?
Write to me or book a 15-minute call. We’ll see what you need and whether we’re a good fit.
